Default intake idea

okay, so has anyoine ever seen the arospeed front mount intake? looks like this http://www.arospeed.com/default.php?cPath=22_37_39
i was wondering, has anyone tried to do a front mount like this, i was planning on buying the filter and getting customs piping for it, itd be fun
and i was also thinking that i could cut the pipe and have a coupler to where if it rained, i could take it off there and put a regular filter on it and take it out of the front so the rain didnt get in.

any thoughts?

already thought about it about 2 years ago.....good luck getting the metal piping all the way to the TB.....It can be done, although it takes some flow away from the rad, and you shoud invest in Intense tubing if oyu plan on doing it

in all reality a FWI or a GOOD CAI works just as good

You'd probably be just as well off if you took your stock airbox and relocated it to under your bumper.

What I mean is that in that type of setup you don't get the benefits from having a cone filter, as it'* essentially just a big panel filter. And panel filters are not as efficient as a cone filter.

He'* got a point. Constructive comments only please.

The only experience I've seen with these is Horsepower TV put one on a "budget Civic" and got a few ponies from it. They said the best part was the look, however.

Everybody can do what they want, let us know how your project end.

What i did...
I did my Fenderwell intake myself with ABS piping (i cover the engine bay part of the tubing with a heat protector) and have no problem with it and it cost me 35$ with the filter. No need to remove the bumper to change my filter. I turn the wheel to right and have access under the car, between the bumper and the fender.

Goodluck
