Finally got started, man it'* cold, better kick in the heater.

Started by removing whats in my way, like this alt. bracket


Then I removed the valve covers


There'* the rockers.


Got in there to remove the first spring,


Got the first set done. Right now about 2 hours in. Time for a little break to let my toes warm up.

Lookin' good! That'* some real determination there, doing a job like that when it'* that cold... Heh, you thought it was hard to keep traction in that video you just posted? Try keeping the tires from spinning now!

They were coated, but I'm not sure why but it came off in big sheets. So they still have that powder on them. I'm going to clean them up again and there'* soem stuff that looks like you can paint it on and the heat of the engine will cure it.

Thats going to be something, it was hard to control the tourque steer. First time I did it the car went right and I got the gravel. Didn't expect that. Now I know better. I'll make a new video when I'm done. Still going to change my cat and put a MPS on, thinking about a 3.25"

Got more work done tonight. Total time, about 4 hours so far.

Working on the back is a bit tighter, but really not to bad.


Got all the springs in, and I didn't even drop a valve keeper.


Got all the rockers in, just need to torque the back head.


All in all, this is going smoother then I had thought.

I had no clue rockers are such an all day thing!

I'm sure I woudl be done by now if I didn't have to keep coming in to warm up. I'm also stopping to take a few pictures, and it'* a bit of a learning curve. The first few springs were a pain getting the keepers in. By the last one I popped them in right away, nothing to it. I'm sure if I did another set I could do it all in around 5 hours or less.

You will be plenty happy with the outcome.
Rockers don't take much time but when you add springs it adds time. Better to take your time and be careful so you don't drop a keeper into the engine.

It really wasn't tha thard. The springs were about 2 hours total. I had a magnet perhaps 3" square. I think it was from a DC motor. I stuck that next to the spring so if a keeper dropped, it went right to that magnet. It happened 2 times. I also have a real strong magnet that I stuck in to pull out the keepers when I was removing the springs. When installing I put a little sticky greese on them so they stayed put. Worked really well. I shoudl have everything together by noon. Then I need to test it out.
