Default Idea for stock resonator replacement!

How about a GM big block resonator from the late 60'* early 70'* muscle cars? They are 2.5 diameter, they are probably very free flowing as well.

I want to get rid of mine, if the sound doesn't become too obnoxious But BusMaster put a Cherrybomb where a resonator would be on his car...he'* liking the results still. Perforated core, free flowing, and works a little like a resonator too.

I belibe we established that you need the resonator in order to avoid a "farty" sound, due to the fact that the mufler is far back in the exhause system. (But I could be wrong)

mine is low and rumbly at idle, tends to scream a little towards the higher end, but its pretty even all the way. This is with a totally stock system, btw.

I took my resonator off, sounds good when the rps go up but when they come down it kinda goes bla bla bla bla bla. Driving it sounds awesome though

Yea.. and the cabin drone on most cars without a res is PITA.. I have thought about wackin it but talked to a physics major guy that my bro knows and says that the louver or perforated design actually causes so much distortion in air waves that its like affectively puttin a smaller pipe diameter.. whether its true or not I don't know.. but my bro has a magnaflo res. on his car and it sounds nice.. I think that might be the route I take.

If you remove your res i'll do mine too, oh wait...

If you wanna know how it sounds like, just find someone with a pre 94 car with a magnaflow exhaust.
