Default IDEA!!

I was thinking of getting some of that liquid electric tape stuff and put in on all exposed wires in the engine area ( exposed meaning not covered by the plastic wire loom) to give them extra durability. Its suppost to dry to a rubber. Anyone seen this stuff? SHould I progress with this idea?

i would just continue with running wire loom. If you use the rubber stuff you would have to go back and scrape it off, if you need to access the wires for any reason.

Never heard of the liquid tape myself, but Roadrash makes a good point. As soon as you seal it up, it'll break. One of Murphy'* Laws I'm sure...

Does anybody know what the temp rating on it is?. Im sure if it doesnt have a high one it would melt or stay sticky cuz of the heat produced in the engine bay.

Mine was applied where the wires go in the firewall on the passenger side. Someone had been there before, then used that stuff to seal if again, but going about six inches out of the firewall. It'* a mess.

Well I used the liquid tape today and I am pleased with the results. Looks better. I had regular tape falling off the injector wires so I used some there too. I used it more to protect the wires than anything else.

This is a case of "If you're happy, I'm tickled friggin pink". I hope it works out. I know it'd look a lot better than loose tape falling all over, I just don't trust my luck with it!
