Default I want some ideas for cheap mods for my "new" '93

Well first off, for what i thought at first was a grandma car, i really love this thing! I like the fog lights, reminds me of a snake when seen from the front, and damn does this this haul (atleast compared to my 93hp sentra)

So my question is, what are some cheap modifications a motivated college student can do for performance? This is obviously not supercharged (sadly...) so im wondering about other options.

I also want to lower it, anyway to do that relatively cheap?

On my sentra, i bought it with basically straight through exhaust, its very loud and sounds just like the cars from the fast and the furious, which sucks...If i chop the exhaust on the bonneville, will it give a more "muscley" tone?

Thanks!

We'll see your question and raise you another.

What MODEL? What engine? Kinda need to know that to help you. In the meantime, check out the TECHINFO link at the top of the page, then edit your profile to show your location (in general if you wish) and your year and trim level in your Signature. This will help us to help you.

if you chop th exaust it will sound like complete crap what most are doing is getting a high flow cat (very cheap) and a mgnaflow, flowmaster, hooker ultra flo, mufflers put in, at idle they sound like v8'* as for other cheap and easy mods to start with a 180 degree thermostat 10 bucks, and intake system of your choice you can DIY one cheap or buy one the choice is yours but stick with 3' intake tubing its best for n/a cars good luck modding

Format, drive a couple hours south and I'll go through it all with you personally, including scanning your car.

Techinfo is also a good place to start. Nothing in your exhaust will gain you anything at this point other than a high-flow catalytic converter. The intake is a good idea, as is the thermostat, but the 'stat won't gain you anything. It just keeps it cooler as you add power.

After that, we can change your rockers, and get a little more nasty with it. All depends on your budget.
