Plus, that engine alone has to cost over $25000?? Also, GM makes a pefectly good indy engine, you know, keep our cars all GM

Seriously, swap in a ATI blown Caddy 4.9 you will have more fun on way less $$
umm... that thing puts out over 300 ft-lbs of torque...

But you look at the HP and its about 2X that. How is that possible? Arnt torque and HP closely related/almost the same thing? How do you build it like that?

torque(in ft/lbs)*engine RPM/5252 = HP

so say this engine made 850 [email protected],000 RPM
that would = 262.6 [email protected],000 RPM

HP is a function of torque and engine speed

Yes it does, but so does a modded L67. A 4.9 with an ATI blower will be double that at a more usable RPM too. Not trying to disagree boat, just that engine is not quite practical for what I think is needed. Just other options are out there that that provides a much better solution for power.

yeah... not really the most praticle of engines to put in (practicality was never an issue, it was just an idea). i realize these engines are rebuilt after every race and there would be no way to use such an engine in a street vehicle. but you've got to admit, it would be fun to go banging off 17,000 RPM shifts for a few hundred miles, supprise the hell out of that little ricer next to you that thinks he'* the **** for shifting at 8,200 RPM (when he has a 8,000 RPM redline). if i were to swap an engine into it, it would be a 4.9 caddy with a turbo and i would convert it to RWD
