How to make a custom intake...
I am thinking about rigging up an intake for my 1997 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight LS (Series 2, N/A), the only thing is, i really do not know how to go about doing it, or what i should buy for a custom setup, is there anyone who would be willing to post a pretty detailed instruction list for this sort of thing, considering it is a very common mod, other'* on the forum who are intrested in doing their own intakes might wanna see this too...

get something flexible and make a template of the air ducting. then take it in to a steel shop or muffler house and have them bend a tube to that angle. got it? if you dont, watch American Chopper, then youll know what im talking about

Max,
Please put your year and trim level in your signature, and get to www.mnbonnevilleclub.com to hook up with your local MN crowd for some examples and help. You're sitting very close to Bonneville Central. MN has our highest density of BC population, and a GREAT regional forum/club.

I found some tubing at the local camping goods store. Its heat resistant and looks just like the FWI tubing. I'll check into it since its only $20.

Here ya go homie.....
I used the rice pipe and a rubber coupler I found at the local hardware store. The box is made out of rectangular sheets of plexi I had to cut myself. The piece on the back of the box (where the pipe goes through) is also plexi, and I used a rotary tool to cut out the circle for the pipe to fit through. The cool thing I used to join the plexi together at the seams is right-angle plastic used to protect drywall in houses. It'* sold in most hardware stores and works great for joining plexi pieces together when used with high-temp glue. I then put adhesive foam insulation around the sides and bottom of the box to help with heat soak. The filter is a K&N RX-4730 (not to be confused with the 4750 commonly found here at BC). Have at it!
EDIT: Also featured to the right of the intake is my partner in crime..... the Intense Standard PCM
