Default Holden Commodore?

Howdy. From somewhere, I don't remember where, someone mentioned that Australian Holden Commodores used 3800s, and had special hi-po cylinder heads or something.

This true? Probably wouldn't be too bad to import stuff, and Michigan has no emissions testing

I am under the impression that the intake manifolds differ on the N/A engines. Heads might as well. The DOHC heads for the FPV stuff down there are better than what you get in the States.

The parts are not compatible. Just as most 3800 camaro/firebird parts are not. The bottom ends are pretty much the same, but not above.

If they were compatible, we'd have them already.

Thank you for the info. I was reading about DOHC heads, and figured that would be ca-razy, but as you said, it would have been done already

Doug was actually referring to the Australian Ford stuff when he mentioned DOHC heads. FPV is Ford Performance Vehicles or something like that, and their stuff is generally better than Ford performance parts stateside.

To convert a pushrod 3800 to an OHC setup would indeed be "ca-razy"!
