Is this the right part for the Bonneville?Horse Power gain? Probably 5 HP?

Is it illegal to replace your cat if its still functioning?

Thats the one I've got, though it won't yield a 5HP gain. It is perfectly legal as well. Here the rules are you must have a cat on your car if it came with one, and thats pretty much it.

I don't know if you need the air tube version or not.

But otherwise, I believe they come with CARB certification.

No he won't need the air tube. He doesn't have a smog pump.

Not even a 5 horse power gain?

Why do people go for high flow cats? Just a replacement?

Depends on the car. Maybe the L67'* might gain that. There IS a gain. Probably 2-5 hp depending on mods.

Probably would be like 2HP for me. I will take what i can get though...hehe. Does yours smell like rotten eggs? Mine does, and I am waiting for it to kick the can.

A high flow cat works in conjunction with other mods, the more you have the likely hood that you will develop more power.

Yes. Gotta remember our engines don't move all that much air [compared to some others], so gains like that aren't as noticable.

If your original was shot, you will gain a few ponies.. but if it was in good working order, then you probably won't feel a thing. <--notice how I didn't say won't gain a thing.. just that you won't feel it.
