Heated O2 vs. plain ole single wire
Not too sure if this is the forum to post this, though I think it would classify as a brainstorm. Anyways, I know the S1 L67'* use single wire o2, but I would like to upgrade to the three-wire (signal, heater, ground). I know it is do-able, but is it something worth doing?

This will give your PCM a reading quicker... That was the reason behind the heated unit( Emissions really )... The 93 PCM even reading the O2, which doesn't take long, After a start you can watch a Good O2 start to show a swin in voltage quickly.... On a Car that has a heated unit, you can turn the ignition on and tell that its heating up a bit as there is a very small swing( Very Very small )...
Ok Back to my point... You can add a heated sensor but, the PCM will still look for the Engine to be at a certain operating temp before it will hit closed loop as well as allowing the TCC to come into play...
On the 94-95 with the heated sensor this is a diffrent story, it could be 30F, and if you hit the right roadspeed the PCM will command the TCC to lock even if the engine has not met the operating perameters... All of these things helped improve emissions and increase fuel milage...
If we can figure out how to make it work, I'm sure we can dig one up

I know I can use *just* the purple wire on the three-wire sensor and leave the other 2 disconnected if need be...in fact, I really do not need the heated circuit at all at this point as it is not needed to get the engine to start/run.
