Yes, everyone please realize that the ECM's and PCM's are somewhat adaptive and will relearn...

Exactly, if you want the real dael, the speed limiter will be removed as well.

Alright, I paid 165 dollars for my Jet Stage II Chip, yet I am nearly positive there is still a speed limiter at 125. It just stops right there. Can anyone explain. Is there a wrong way to install it?

you're speed limiter should be done for. Ask the experts.

My Jet Stage 2 took me to 137 the first day (it's posted here somewhere). It's been significantly faster since.

Time to call Jet, bud. I know DrJay has the same chip, but doesn't care for top speed, and hasn't tested it yet.

I sent this to the seller:
How is this item supposed to work? If it changes the reading that the PCM gets
from the IAT sensor, then it is useless. The PCM in the Bonneville and other vehicles
with the 3800 will quickly realize that the IAT is reading false and use the O2
sensor reading instead. The only way to alter performance through the electronics
of a 3800 is to either use a chip IN the PCM or flash the PCM depending on the year
of the car.

This is what they had to say:
The thing is your not gonna tell the pcm it's -40 degrees outside like a regular
resitor, your gonna tell it's around 40 degress..
That why its adjustable and goes inline with iat sensor.. WE installed in on my
boxster and it fooled the pcm easily.. Of course i dont have a pontiac so i couldnt
tell you..

Translated:
It's a scam. The thing is an adjustable resistor that goes on the circuit with the IAT. As Will already stated, our PCMs are too smart too be fooled this way.
As for the guy's Boxter, I doubt that he's ever even driven one, much less done any kind of work on any car, ever.

$50? Shit i got parts to make one of those right here.....

It'll work just fine as a happy knob to adjust timing, IF you have a chip made for it. But then you might as well get the whole happy knob setup....

On that jet chip, give them a call. :? I know one can do over 150 with it.

Alright, I will have to do that when I get back from a trip this weekend. I sent in the warranty papers, lets hope they will honor it. I am just mad because that thing was SUCH a pain to get into. Thanks guys.
