As much as I like a car that will run wild, and one that puts out a sound like it will...it is REALLY nice to hear a bunch of you on hear keeping an eye on emissions!

I know I am not one of the youngest (or oldest) people on the site, but I do think about the future for my kids. I have three of the little ones sitting here with me now...and I want things to be nice for them down the road!

However, if any of them say anything bad about my car...I will sell them for a buck!!

I am not a tree hugger or anything like that, but this is something that all true car nuts should keep in mind!

Moose, any performance cat with 2.5" in and out should work just fine.

but why do some of you folks want a Bonneville to be loud?? IMO, quietness=sleeper-ness. doesnt have to be loud to be fast...

Mine isn't obvious at idle.....I like that. A bit louder than I'd like when I open it up (even on the freeway, people can hear it with their windows up). I still have the sleeper benefit off the line.

isn't the fine for gutting your cat, like $20,000? ouch. ive seen tests showing a highflow cat will actually give you just a hair more power than no cat. i run a highflow.

of course you'll deystroy our enviorment and so on and so on. alot of people don't care (not saying you do or don't) but if you get pulled over the cop will smell somthings up. not only that, you'll smell it, when your parked idleing, driving, warming it up in the morning. even if you could care less about the enviroment its more of a benifit to go highflow.

check ebay, you can get a highflow unit there new for $60 usually. thats were i got my carsounds cat and i love it.

i wouldn't risk the fine. even if there wasn't some huge fine its still not worth it

as far as the polluting for the future i'll just build a 327 or 283 12:1 compression over 500 lift cam. single plane intake with a holley double pumper with very little exhuast for my truck and pollute in that thing

and the kid thing i really don't want to think bout kids now

now jegs sells a dynomax "super converter" 2.5 in and out but its only 13 inches long would this fit cuase the price is only $52.99
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but you will get more performance out of a built engine like that if you have true duals with a high-flow cat and glass packs. I noticed more power on my built up 351 Cleveland, Holley 750CFM double, Edlebrock Performer intake, and opened headers in my '71 Torino with the cat. (high-flow)
