Yes, it'* a flexable pipe, like a dryer duct or something like that you could get from a hardware.

Yep I just took a chisile and a hammer and broke the plastic welds and I did that for both pieces and I made the whole that was letting air in, I think it'* like 2/12 or 3 inches, so I chisiled that out as much as I could.

Power of a dremel tool with a cut off bit.. one tool for all jobs.. gut the pegs off inside the box and the opening.. plus it smooths out the edges of the cuts too..

I took a look at my airbox last weekend when I ripped apart my car. It doesn't look like there is much to "gut"

Would the removal of those "fins" make any kinda difference. By the looks of it, the old airbox style is pretty straighforward.

I would like to do something to the intake snorkel

This might sound like a stupid question to you guys, but wouldn't it be easier to just make a custom intake out of some steel piping and a K&N or some other performance filter.

Unless thats not as good for your engine or there are other things envolved like connecting an air sensor or something.

Tell me if I don't have a clue what I'm talking about.

What type of tubing should I use for the air ducting? And how should I secure it?
