Default Good Find: Need Opinions

Any of you guys ever driven or have any opinions on the Ford Contour?

Today I was driving in my friends subdivision and saw a wine colored Contour SVT for sale. I didn't get out and look at it real well or check the miles and price tag, but consumer reports said it has bout 195 hp, so I'm kinda interested in taking a closer look.

I thought I would get some more 1st hand info before I take a look.

Well you might want to reconsider that "second look"! The Contour was the one of Ford'* great ideas to have no real alignment specs for! In other words, Ford built this thing that it could scrub off your tires & still be in alignment! My dad owned one & I was so surprised when his tires didn't even last two years!

Basically FORD has allowed such variance in the front end that it can scrub the tread off your tires & still technically be "In Alignment"!

There is a HUGE aftermarket out there for those cars. I've seen videos of people easily dropping turbos in them.

Thats why I was interested. I liked the idea of a smaller car with 6 cylindahs (even if it is on the small side). I like the fact that they are easily modded.

Maybe I'll check it out (despite the fact that the tires will get balled really quick).
