good idea. I hae heard them as a resonator and seem to like them. I am thinking of getting one and putting it just after the cat. Give me some input.

A member in MN actually has two as mufflers on his car. They ran a Y junction where the pipe normally starts the * curve at the end. It sounded great to tell you the truth, i was very surprised. Quieter then my 93 with flowmaster @ idle.

The only problem I can see with them is getting louder over time, but then again you'll get used to that

well i ordered one and i am going to put it as a resonator and then put on my flowmaster 40 series. I think it will sound great. I cant wait to get my carsound cat but that will not be for a while due to money issues :? But i have to start putting some money aside. By the way great deal on flowtech glasspacks on summitracing.com i think i just paid like 25 dollars shipped or something like that.

Replacing your resonator with a glasspack is a VERY BAD IDEA. I have no idea where people get it in their heads that a glasspack flows BETTER than a factory resonator. It doesn't!! A factory resonator works on the Helmholtz principle of wave cancellation. It does not have any packing to pose a significant restriction. Glasspacks are NOT good flowing mufflers. Despite the fact that you can see straight through a glasspack, they are very inefficient. A 2.25" cherry bomb flows something like 200-250 CFM'*. If you are going to remove your factory resonator and replace it with straight pipe, that is one thing. Personally, I would leave the resonator installed. It is tuned to cancel significant resonant peaks in your exhaust tone, without posing much of a restriction. The factory GM engineers know a lot more about what they were doing acousitcally tuning an exhaust system than people who hack in glasspacks. Do you think all these people who are replacing their resonators with a $19 restrictive glasspack are basing their decisions on flowbench data? Have they optimized the volume of their glasspack so it is somehow better acoustically tuned than the factory resonator? No, and no.

i am using it to make a deeper sound rather then a ricey sound. I just talked to some people over on GPclub and they did it and it worked out for them. It is not to quite the noise it is to change it to a deeper tone. Keep giving me input please. You seem to know what you are talking about

If you want a deeper sound, take the resonator off. Do not replace it with a glasspack. The resonator is cancelling a lot of the deeper tones in your factory exhaust BY DESIGN. If you want to hear the deeper tones, just eliminate the resonator. This will make the exhaust noise more noticeable in the car, but if you didn't want to hear the exhaust, you wouldn't be changing mufflers anyway. The 92-93 H bodies used a 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust with no resonator, from the factory. This is the setup I transplanted onto my 97 LeSabre. I am using a Dynomax 20" case turbo muffler, with no resonator in the system. The exhaust is free flowing and quiet. You do not want to put a glasspack muffler that only flows ~200 cfms up so close to your engine. The Series I is only 170 hp and probably isn't going to be HURT by an exhaust system that doesn't flow a ton, but if you are trying to improve your exhaust system, replacing the factory'* tuned resonator with a packed, restrictive muffler is not a good idea. If you wanted to use something like a Race Bullet muffler to replace the resonator, that would be a different story. A dynomax race bullet in 2.5" probably flows virtually as well as a straight pipe. Glasspacks are just too cheaply made to flow well.

would that hurt it. Because it is being installed and i already paid but if it is going to hurt my performance or engine. give me more feedback. because i have talked to like 5 people that did it and they love it and have had no problems but i dont know.
