Default 18inch wheels compared to 17

What all will be affected by going to 18 inch wheels from 17? I'm assuming the speedo will be off by a bit? Can a pcm change fix this? Will 18'* cause better or worse handling?

You would get 18" with a lower profile tire giving it the same diameter on the outside. I believe a tech2 can reprogram you if need be.

Since you need to decrease the amount of rubber between the road and wheel with 18s you might notice a rougher ride. As for your speedo being off that will depend on what size tire you get.

depending on the width of the rims, some good sizes are 245/45/18 and 235/50/18.
you could also check the tech info or search for a tire comparison caluclator to find different diameters and speedo readings.

Your handling will more than likely improve, but this all comes down to the tire you have selected.

Definitely will need lower profile tires, as it would affect your turning, possibly rubbing in your wheel well. It shouldn't affect your speedo any if you get the right size tire.

Majority of the speedo'* are off anyways. Not by much though I think like 3 mph or so. But if you keep the same od of the tire you will only be losing about a 1/2" of sidewall.

The ride will be harsher, and there'* no way around that.
