.....and so mine shall remain off.

Looking more and more like the whole family will be going to WCBF so I won't be going over 120 mph. 8)

Hrm, if its a plastic part, its called a Lower Air Dam, and on G body Auroras it is integral to regulating engine temperatures. I've had mine come off, the little plastic tabs that hold the dam into the lower skirting cracked. I was going to forget about it, but once I researched how it affected engine cooling, it went back on.

Anyone that experiences hot running engines in Auroras, its sometimes that shield there.

Then again, I'm not sure how it works on the Bonnevilles.

Yes, upon closer inspection, I can see what you mean Jim. The lack of support that this "Lower Air Dam" provides when in place would, expose the inner wheel well front extensions; and front bumper lower air spoiler (that does most of the directing of air into the radiator) would lose ridgidity and possibly crack with the extreme wind forces at higher than the posted limits
:slomo:

adam said he blew the air damn off of my car at the track, and it took a fenderwell with it... without it the bumper is extremely weak, and i still have not replaced it :duh:

wanna sell yours ;)
