Ya Justin the engines/technology has really changed for the better.
Old school stock engines/carbs were not producing huge HP or very efficient without major $ upgrades, and real quality breathing heads.
However, I have always wondered...
If we had a major solar flare, it is assumed most computerized cars would be dead.
What about old school ones?
I ran with hei Accel super coil, cap and ignition modules.
I think the only other board was the printed circuit for the windshield wiper delay control LOL!

How did I guess that in your reply you would use the real old school magic words..
POINTS
My guess was too that if your car was running at time of major flare..only points cars would survive.
(now teenagers ask what the heck are points??)

Are you kidding me? There are adults right now that would ask what points are.

Last I knew, anything that was basically microprocessor/software driven is susceptible to EMP.

i guess i dont know much about it. i would think any car could be saved if you hooked the chassis to earth ground with a jumper cable size wire. as long as there isnt too much paint on your fenders and such isolating them, if you were really worried you could make all the metal electrically continuous with those premade ground straps they have
