Final wrap-up on my transmission swap

Here'* an excerpt from a PM I sent to Thomas a few minutes ago. This gives you an idea of what happens when a modified transmission is run on a PCM programmed for a stock transmission:
Also, the speedometer is obviously a little off at this point, though not as much as I expected. Maybe 5mph? All these issues should eventually be addressed by a tune, though

TC lockup holds strong, and does not jump in and out like we thought it might. However, if I drive on the freeway for very long at ~70mph I lose TC lockup completely. I thought this was due to low fluid, but have since diagnosed it to be a PCM issue. If I stop the car and shut it off I immediately regain lockup. In fact, last night the Check Engine light came on after losing lockup on the freeway. I can drive all day long on city streets with the TC locked in 3rd gear, but the PCM doesn't like something about the lockup at freeway speeds.
I need to look at the engine tune, because the Intense tune was optimized for my old cam timing. There'* also a weird issue with 97'* involved with torque management. Depending on what kind of torque the PCM is seeing, it will automatically register false knock counts and degrees of KR in order to limit the torque going through the transaxle. I'm wondering if the PCM is doing this at times, because this new converter and gears is probably confusing it pretty bad.

I don't know if you Bonneville members make a year end video or scrap book but these are some pictures I took during the fun & games.
They are full size pictures so you should have plenty of room for photo chopping cropping etc...

Ben, good news. I got my email from HPtuners,
The typical procedure is to send the email to the customer the day the interface ships out.
I paid for next day air so I should have it tomorrow, Thursday 1/25/2007.
I'll let you know but it looks like we can tweak your car this weekend.
Later.
BTW, Now I can also tune Mr. EchoSSEI'* car, and my Vette, and basically anything OBDII GM.... woohoo...

Hey Bob, I wanted to mention how much I appreciate your help last weekend, my tool box is so clean, I have been good too. I have been returning stuff when I'm done with it.
Ben and I painted the rotor hats and my front brake calipers on the Vette, it turned out great. Thanks Ben.

I'll need to see the vette rotors soon. So when are you and I and Ben going to hit up Firebird?
