Default L-67 Fieros

There are many L-67 swaps that have put into Fieros, anywhere from the *-1 to the *-3. The lasted *-3 swap was installed by FastFieros of Dallas, the car was for sale on E-bay a few days ago. That car used everything from the *-3 ouf of a GTP Comp G including tap shift. If you search you will find many pages filled with L-67 swaps and parts needed for the swap. So far the fastest L-67 in Fiero is in the mid 11'* held by Fiero X,a guy from Kansas. The cars are not expensive to insure and nor are they unsafe. The body panels are made out of the same materiel that Saturns and many other cars are made out of these days. I could go on for days about the Fiero but will leave it up to those interested in the swap to look it up. There are several good sites to look at like, FastFieros.com,Pennock Fiero Forum, Yahoo 3800supercharged Club,ECT. I am wrapping up my first of several L-67 swaps into a Fiero. Here are a few pictures of it.--Well n ot forsure how to add pictures so no pictures.

Only about 400 1984 models caught fire due to a defect in engine design. In 1984, only the 2.5L duke was available but only had a 3qt oil pan capacity, and with all of the oil leaks these engines are prone to some threw a rod on the highway and coated the catalytic converter with oil and they caught fire. Again, only about 200 out of a total production of about 370,000 made from 1984-1988. http://www.fiero.mn.org/Knowledge/Fe...production.htm

The 2.8L V6 was available from 1985-88. The 2.5L 4-cyl was base engine all 5 model years. Since the "fire" debacle, all Fieros have had a "fire-prevention" recall performed that involved removing some things, rerouting other things, and the installing of heat shields. But when it comes down to it the reason for the fires in the first place were due to lack of maintenance more than anything else.
