Default Exhaust (muffler)

I know I need a new cat and my exhaust is leaking. I have my factory trans am muffler (2001 WS6) with about 100 miles on it and a new used magnaflow muffler as well. After thinking about it, I might like to put the trans am muffler on it instead with the magnaflow cat, then I can have my dual exhaust and still have it be deep sounding but not so loud. Would the trans am muffler be more restrictive? I wouldn't think so since I always read that we can't out flow the stock exhaust, I would think I couldn't out flow a TA exhaust either. Right now I currently have the N10 exhaust but I don't even know whaty it sounds like with the leak I have. Any thought on the sound and what I should do? Also if I decide to have the TA exhasut put on I will have a slightly used magnaflow for sale in the for sale section....

Thanks,
Chris

That will not be a problem, especially since almost all of the aftermarket mufflers we buy for our Bonnevilles are really for the F cars anyway. You should be good to go.

I have a camaro/firebird muffler on mine with the stock resonator and high flow cat. People seem to like my exhaust tone. It'* deep and noticeable in city traffic, yet quiet at highway speeds

Thats what I was looking for, and I have no resonator on mine (92) so I was thinking, it would be plenty loud enough.......

I have a Magnaflow hi-flow cat and Magnaflow F-body crossflow muffler. It was too loud. I added a Magnaflow resonator.

Thats why I am thinking that with the magnaflow cat and the trans am muffler it would be just right.

N10 might be louder than the Trans Am muffler.....the N10 was the Loudest and deepest Muffler that was offered on a Bonne and has a disticnt sound.....one reason i have not changed mine

agreed a change in the cat will change the tone.....Others that have went to a highflow cat and left the stock muffy will chime in and agree 100% with that statement

I totally agree, but the only thing is that living in Michigan things rust, and I have a rusty old muffler, so I have to do somethin, do you suggest trying to find a new N10? Can I even get one? Just want all my ducks in a row because the car is going in for the exhaust work after the holiday (its driving me crazy the way it is, although it smells good )
