engine swap - what to expect?
#11
lmao. thanks buick.
bookmarked for future reference.
step 1 : wait to hear about the 03 - still a rumor right now
step 2 : assuming 03 is for sale, buy it
step 3 : tow it home and look at what im getting myself into.
any chance youd drop in general chat and find out that im looking for help, if i do it?
so far this has been a big help for realizing the scope of the swap.

I'd always be willing to hang-out in the general chat if you had any questions, you could also PM me too, I wouldn't mind at all.
Why would you swap the L67 from the '03 into the '04? I would think you're better off just selling your '04 and keeping the '03, unless your really attached to your '04??????
Still, how much time are you planning on doing the swap in? I don't think you should rush it.

i love my color and the 04. i would love much more if i had one of the few SE supercharged make my car unique. everyones got an SSEi, how many ppl got an SE supercharged?
id plan on 4 days, but i wouldnt have that set in stone. the car isnt a necessary thing on a regular basis (i can do without it for awhile)

That seems like your cutting time short. It took me a month, but most of that was just me figuring out how to fix all the minor issues that I had, like exhaust, alternator, wiring, etc.
I think you'll find that 4 days isn't going to be enough time. I'm sure there will be some issue that you'll come across that will require more research than working time. I know I did. Most likely a wiring/ECM problem.
4 days is probably enough time to get the motor/trans and everything else swapped out, but I'm not sure if you'll have it running after 4 days.

I'm thinking about this more. The engine wiring that we are talking about is already there on the donor...BCS, EVAP and all those goodies are easy to take if you simply unbolt the wiring connector at the firewall and take the computer as well.
Subframe wise..I believe the transmissions all mount the same..so there should be any issues.
