Default Does the Tornado work?

I'm ordering a performance part my astro here http://www.vararam.com/products03.html It works for vortec v6 and v8'*. Now looks to work good and I want to get better mileage on the astro (current 16.3 mpg)

For my bonneville I can't seem to find a part like this that would go into the air intake, to get better airflow or performance. So would the Torando work? Anyone have experience with it? Better mileage?

(I know most of you would say to supercharge or get a new intake system. I can't honestly say I want to purchase that kind of system for a little more performance or a better ride) I actually want to get better ceramic brakes and new struts and shocks cuz I know mine are DEAD

Stay away from the Tornado, it will make you lose mileage and possibly lose power as well. Our 3800 needs a nice laminar air flow, any kind of turbulence will screw up the air flow.

bah, those are horrible on our cars. The whole reason we have a MAF screen is to keep the air flow laminar. Someone did this a long time ago and it KILLED the gas milage and power.

If things like the link you posted, the tornado or whatever really worked, the manufacturers would include it. They want the MPG of cars up more then you do.

Read the article in Techinfo on airbox mods/maf screen removal.
