The Difference a Mod Makes.
Last year my SSEi ran very consistent 14.5 sec 1/4 mi times 96-97 mph with 60 foot times 2.2 - 2.3 sec
Since then I have added the 1.9 rockers and a Limited Slip differential....and was using a 3.1" pulley instead of the 3.4" from last year.
The following are 5 runs showing the difference the mods made :
The track conditions and temps were similar both years.
10:am - R/T-.084 60'-2.199 1/8-9.069 @ 78.41 1/4-14.055 @ 98.40 - Time trial
11:am - R/T-.223 60'-2.135 1/8-9.006 @ 78.13 1/4-13.985 @ 98.36 - Time trial
12:Nn - R/T-.095 60'-2.210 1/8-9.056 @ 78.71 1/4-14.038 @ 98.38 - Win
2:pm - R/T-.177 60'-2.161 1/8-9.021 @ 78.58 1/4-14.007 @ 98.32 - Win
3:pm - R/T-.094 60'-2.189 1/8-9.046 @ 78.48 1/4-14.036 @ 98.03 - Lost to 2nd place Monte Carlo who was a sec slower but had a .002 reaction time. PDad beat him next.
So the difference appears to be .5 sec gain and 2 mph
I think the limited slip would make more difference if I were running slicks because it didn't make a significant difference using street tires.
I didn't scan, so don't know if I was getting any knock retard.
.....and as Rogue said, I was sleeping at the lights, so have some work to do on my old fart reaction times.

I think with slicks you would have run 13.6XX, your 60' were all about 2.2 while mine were in the 2.0XX, I was falling off the top and had a tough time getting into 3rd gear with the car shifting before the finish line :?
I think we were both seeing KR on the weekend too, at 110*f and the thin dry air the high octane race fuel couldnt compensate that much? On friday I ran the 3.3" and no slicks and was running right behind you, saturday I had the 3.1 and slicks and ran beside you. I give that credit to the slicks and not the pulley?
Next year we should have a day to test these things out and try diff pullies and combo'* to see where the pattern is?

Yes O'Neil, we need more time to play and experiment.
It was a noticeable difference after the rockers and with no more one legged burnouts it has got to be easier on the trani and tire wear.
I have re-installed the 3.2" pulley. Shad ran with that size and was trapping 1 mph faster than us...and he doesn't have the rockers installed yet.
Even the 115 octance fuel couldn't compensate.

That'* one thing I'm still confused about....How come I trapped higher, but slower e.t.? The only thing I can think of is that I read an article about factory freaks, and the imperfections and perfections of mass production, and somethin'* different....I can't wait to get the rockers on, next up will be an LSD, shift kit, and probably some steeper gears.....

Paul, what were your 60'* compared to last year?

quit looking at those reaction times.
Does your car shift into third at the end of the track or is it still in second? If it does shift before the end I suggest manually holding it in 2nd to finish out the quarter, I susspect a gain of 1-2mph and a tenth or so.
Just an option.
