Didn't think it would make much difference.

After thinking about this for awhile I removed my MEF screen. I didn't want to do it because I figured it was the last defence against sucking something into my intake. I figured" what the hell" try it. It does make a differance. I have a rice pipe and this 99 se is sucking air much better! Low end torque hasn't changed much but, mid range is much better! 50 mph -80 is much better.

:? Well, This morning I got in the car and the check engine light was on? I checked the sensor connection and all looked okay as far as I can tell?? Does the computer need to learn the new air flow or something?? Any advice would be appericiated. It still seems to run good.

Thanks man. I love this site and the people on here. There are some awesome people on here with good technical advice. If problem is still there in the morning. I'll try the battery thinging.
I dont necessarily agree with removing the MAF screen, but it should be a good idea to test the car with it back on. Just to make sure.
After seeing all the crap that gets onto an MAF screen over time.... :? Im leary, but either way, its been done, people have done it, so hopefully it wont cause you a problem!
