Default debate over smaller pulley

if i only go down a size or two with the sc pulley will i see alot of kr with only my airbox being modified. im on a limited budget. what should i do?! will i see a performance gain at all with jus a smaller pulley and no other mods?

First thing you need to do is get your car scanned to see if you have any KR stock. If you do, fix that first, then scan again.

When you have no KR stock, then a pulley swap is ok, but you will want a better intake and probably a hi flow cat.

Yes, it is somewhat expensive ( on a tight budget ) to do it properly, but it is the best way to insure that your engine lasts

Run a 3.5 to be safe if you can't wait, but check for KR sooner or later. Don't go below 3.5 until you get it scanned.

I personally feel a 3.5 is seriously pushing your luck on a stock setup with just an intake. You're better off paying 350 for an aeroforce gauge now than all the frustration and expense of popping a piston.

Kyle- didn't you see a significant amount of KR with your 3.5?

A lot of that can be TM though. Try getting a 3.5 along with a PCM, T-Stat and cooler plugs (basically our level 1 performance package).

I wish i had gotten my gauge first because when i got mine i already had a FWI and 180* stat so it'* hard to say if i had any or not.
