Default Darn governer

O.K. on the LSS */C the governer kicked in at 110 mph. How do I get rid of that?

get a performance chip...not sure who makes them for your car though...someone else will "chip" in

It may be VERY different. Starting with the gear ratios, which will upset all the programmed shift points.

Don't let that secret out. People will start to respect you

For instance......the 93 SSE should be virtually identical to the 93 LeSabre, right? L27 and all. The gear ratio for the SSE however, is 3.06, while the LeSabre got the more common 2.84 ratio. So the 93 SSE chip (assuming no other differences in PCM'*) would plug in, but all the shift points would be screwy.

Now imagine the much-less common SSEi ratio of 2.97.

So we need to do alot of homework to see if he has options. He MIGHT be able to adapt an SSEi PCM.

It was a little harder to find the limiter on my SSEi than my Buick....SSEi 125-126mph
Regal GS 108 mph
But of course these figures were only found after extensive "track" testing

Good question. I think the answer is the 'unknown'. People are naturally curious, and some crave the adrenaline rush.

It'* spooky in a Bonneville at some speeds, and those speeds vary. My car feels like 80 at 120. No problem. My old stock Dunlops caused some front end lift (butt-pucker scary) above 125. I lost a wheel balancing weight at 120 one day after a run, too (I think it was my first chip run to 137). The good news was that I was coasting back down from 130+, so it was controllable. Shook the bejesus out of me though.

Each subsequent speed run I've done has been in eastern Oregon on an old abandoned (private) road that stretches for over 10 miles in a straight ribbon. The only thing to watch for are animals. Even a small rabbit can ruin your day over 125.

I actually have a pic of the HUD (difficult to do) at 148 on this road at night. I won't do that again. I did drive it up and back at 50 to make sure the road was clean and clear before doing it. Holding the camera in front of the HUD isn't fun at that speed, but the speedo is buried in the hump of the column, so the only other way to show speed is to shoot a pic of a GPS at that speed. Not fun either.

With the Toyo'* on the car, my front end is stable up to about 140-145, depending on wind direction. Might be better with the ELC jacked up fully.

Once again, my older car prevails, no governer, no rev limiter, just SPEED!!! MWHAHAHAHA. I had mine up to 105, scared the **** outta me, and slowed the hell down. Damn crappy suspension.
