Default Crazy Idea....

Ok, here we go. I was lookin' around online for some cheap way to IC my car, then I remembered a website called STS Turbo (www.ststurbo.com) that remotely mounts turbos where the muffler is/was. So I was thinkin, what if someone could replace the muffler with a turbo, and while doing that run tubing and an intercooler back to the turbo, then run more tubing with possibly another intercooler back into the supercharger. THEREFORE, you would have a turbo-supercharged car.....And with the double intercooler, KR should be at a minimum. You should/could also make another intake for the turbo with a one way poppet valve so the supercharger boost wouldn't just blow out. With this system you could overcome the inefficiencies of the series 3 M90 and make more boost. The only problem I can see is that it would add more weight. Kick me some feedback, let me know what you think. Again, this is all just speculation, not fact.

The only practical way to twin-charge is to dump the SC boost at 3k rpm'* or so, and have the turbo take over.

But if you put a BOV after the 2nd intercooler, wouldn't that manage the boost? And if you left the supercharger "on" the whole time, wouldn't it 'preload' the turbo, and reduce if not eliminate turbo lag?

yes the STS turbo is a cool system, i have a friend that has on a 00 SS camaro, making crazy power..... but there is pleanty enough room for the turbo under the hood and a IC too. And the STS would add alot of weight

You are saying to double intercooler a car to keep the turbo cool to keep KR down. If you stack them one on top of the other like say a condensor and radiator...wouldn't the heat disapate onto the back one and still keep you warm?

Not one on top of the other, but about the same spot people put the neon'* on the side. One under the passenger side, one under the drivers side.
