I am about to aquire a L36 engine from a freind who was going to rebuild it and put it in his SE. He has to move out so he is giving me the engine, I was wondering how difficult it would be convert it into an L67. I know you have to change the heads and a few other things, I want to put a new engine in my SSEi since mine is sitting at 210k. My current engine is in great condition but I want a more powerful engine and I do not want to mod mine to far because of its age.
Sniffle...only 210 on the clock and you are worried about the motor holding up, it'* good for plenty more.
When building an L36 bottom end with an L67 top end, custom tuning will be required. Overall it'* possible and been done quite a bit. Actually pretty easy.
Something to consider though is comparing the costs of machining/sourcing all the parts to rebuild vs buy a JY or longblock. Wanted to toss that out there since these are typically a common and low priced engine.
