how did you get it attached in the fender,did you use a 45 or 90 and go down lower towards the ground?

I need to see what size filter cone you are using,there isnt much room in there I bought a 6 3/4 one and it wont fit...

It will fit. I use a 7" in mine. This isn't mine, but same setup and same filter:
