I wouldn't give up looks for performance any day of the week. I have a CAI with heat shield on the 95, and a FWI on the 93. Performance is remarkably different between them.
Ok I have no clue what you're talking about. L67? TB? L27? You're saying I need a 3.5" intake hose correct?

Shanks: Dont worry Im new to these mods as well
L67=supercharged 3800.
L27= n/a 3800 series 1
TB=throttle body

and yes you need the 3.5 inch tubing, or the kit that says "for 97 cars" from intense
http://intense-racing.com/Merchant2/...3800_Induction
that says its for 96 and 97 Bonneville'*, sure itll work?

Yes, I confirmed it last winter. I have the 97 kit on my car (test fit for the Series 1 with INTENSE):

You will need a smaller washer reservior (maybe, only if you have headlight sprayers like I did) and relocate your charcoal (vapor recovery) canister.

I'll have to replace my washer fluid reservoir cause mine is a double. Whats the "charcoal (vapor recovery) canister"?

Did you read SamuelJackson'* link above my post?

It clearly explains what it is, and shows it. In fact, in the pic I just posted, you can see it just behind the headlight.
