Cheaper Turbo Option

Cool write up Sol,
I also liked the article on the ls1 maf upgrade, I thought that when you bore out the tb you would have to use a afc to retune the maf or wind up running lean. This article also says that.

I know the different MAF will cause issues because for the same 500gr of airflow it will send a larger or smaller voltage depending on the injectors it was tuned for. This will cause the PCM to pulse the injectors at the wrong length. I've got a link that explains this better if you want it...But porting it?
There are only two outcomes I can think of resulting from playing with the area around the maf. More airflow, more turbulence. The added airflow isn't going to be an issue unless you reach the max the maf can meter. This would be like saying adding a smaller pulley requires you to recalibrate your maf, which isn't the case. The turbulence is too unpredictable to use a set calibration to correct. If its reading 500gr-200gr-900gr-100gr at idle adding a flat 12% isn't going to make it any better.
Whats your thoughts?
