I'd like to thank ZZPerformance for the great idea on modifying thermostats.

It was simple to drill 4 - 1/16" holes around the perimeter of the thermostat opening.
The effect is to increase the flow slightly for slightly cooler temps but more importantly to keep the water jackets cooler before the heat makes its way up to the thermostat and starts the flow moving. I recommend reading their article.

When I tried it with my 180 degree Hypertech, it dropped the running temp to 170 degrees F. A good middle ground between 160 and 180.

It only increases the warm up time by a few minutes and actually runs a little cooler than 170 until you start to load up the engine with that lead foot.

Sure it will change once the weather warms up a little. Thankfully where I live we don't have to worry about freezing temperatures and chilly rides.

The supercharger temperature dropped by 10 - 20 degrees as well. A real bonus for that cooler charge of air.

Now I've got to work on wrapping that 500 F front exhaust header. :?
A ceramic coated ported version sure would be welcome.....Hector.

Thanks for trying that. I wondered what the actual visible effect would be on the gauge for that stat. I have the scantool now, so I can take some very accurate readings and comparisons. I might have to do that this weekend. I'm ripping the top end apart anyway!

All over it. Will be offering Ported Exhaust Manifolds with Jet Hot Coating. We will do it in bulk so it is cheaper. I am ahead of you my man. Got my crossover Jet Hot Coated, guess what goes next.... We are just going to become a Jet Hot dealer, much easier.... MUHAHAA

Where I live, in this one horse town, I have to do everything myself and products are only available by mail order. :(

Seriously, when I first arrived in this town, I brought my old Scout into the Chrysler dealer for a transmission oil change (living in an apartment at the time) and they emptied the pan by punching a hole in the pan then brazing it up afterwards.
Needless to say, that'* the last time I brought any of my vehicles in for service.

I can hardly wait till you beef up your ADTR site with some Bonne products.
Maybe I'm missing something, but all I can find on your site are Ricer parts.
