No brake needed here. Like Pontiac1983 said, 10-20 mph, I can floor it and lay rubber. I have always had a traction problem in this thing, but in cooler temps (15-20 deg F) it is a real problem. I can't seem to hook up, let alone go to WOT on a start. I know that it is the touring eagle GA'* that are just not sticky enough. Come spring I'll replace my front tires to match the new Yoko'* in the back.
i have the same prob. when i first punched it...i couldn't believe the feeling. and i still cannot floor the gas from a dead stop or i'll clean the rubber right off my brand new $500-per-set michelins...i have punched it from 20mph and i still get them to chirp. the torque steer is pretty annoying. i am still in shock that this car has so much guts. when i'm driving it...i feel like i'm driving a big buick...so when i punch it...all of the sudden...i realize i'm driving a supercharged bonnie. yum yum..i could eat her up all day long.

Mr. Smooth......I was actually going to have Jseabert video tape me buring off my old ones, but I had to get 'em changed on short notice and missed the chance. That would have been cool. Actually, I saved 2 of the old Dunlops for a trailer I'm building to match the car. Hmmmmm......

P83, I bought my heat from the grandprixstore, and so did SSEi95. Mine were great, but his seemed a bit 'underwhelming'. His are 30 days more recent than mine, so get with him before doing your heated seats to see if they solved his problem first. It'* worth it!

Thank for the advice will. I actually just came back from tooling around in my car. I laid one stip and hit about 110 on the 60mph highway about 3 or 4 times. I just need to get all of this out of my system!! hahaha. I was actually riding around town looking for some trouble too. All these stories I hear about people racing and winning got me excited. But alas, I couldnt find anyone

New tires--even Touring tires--will cause better traction (which is more important than the ability to burn out). Burn outs are fun, but not in a race. Idealy you don't want to break traction at all.

My car has older Eagle GA'* on the front. They still have plenty of tread, but because of age, they have lost much of their plyability and have become too hard for good traction. They are two years old, and two years of baking in 95-98 deg F in the summer and chilling in 0-15 deg F in the winters has taken its toll. They are also not the best performance tire. This makes for easy loss of traction (unfortunately).

The other thing that may be causing a lack of "burn" is the fact that your car may be showing signs of its age. Your Supercharger may be tired. Either way, traction is your friend. When you sell Blue (I believe I read that you were planning on selling it), don't bring this fact up to perspective buyers. If they ask, be straight with them on its capabilities, but don't offer this info unless they ask. Let him or her test drive the car instead.

I really don't think there is anything wrong with your car. Don't worry about it too much. Just enjoy it while you own it. I also think that you should realize that there are differences between years and trim level. You can't expect a 1989 SSE to perform the same as yours--it is lighter than yours but has less HP. I don't know which would be faster. You also can't compare it with a 1998 SSEi. The 1998 will have 240 hp compared to your 205 hp. I believe that 1994-1995 SSEi'* had 225 hp. Just food for thought.
