Default bonny a rice rocket??

ok, heres the scoop... i have a 95 SSEi, and i work at the largest muffler shop in the area, which is also a dynomax distributor. so, needless to say, i cut out the old and replaced it with 2.5" from the cat, back to a dynomax race-series welded muffler (straight thru design). and 2.5" tailpipes. its a really nice job that is finished with rectangular ractive tips that are non resonated, so the dont look ricey at all, but low and behold, it sounds like a honda civic on crack. it is deeper and meaner than an import, but still loud and buzzy. i thought it would sound better because we have big 6'*, but i guess not. i do have a dynomax bullet i can probably stick in there, but i dont know if it will fit because of the diameter of it, and i dont know if it will quiet it down to my likings, i dont want it stock quiet, but not as loud as it is. anyone done this, or know what i can do without getting rid of the new exhaust?????? thanks

p.*. my girlfriend hates it, so its gotta change

I would assume you need a resonator...hmmmm 95'* have em...I have never heard of a Bonnie sounding tinny. Mind you we have had more success with FlowMaster and MagnaFlow.

Did you change your cat converter as well?

Sorry, no solution I know..but I'm just brainstorming :?

Slap resonator after resonator on there until it sounds acceptable.

We should make a whole database of cars and their specs and have good quality recordings so when members are looking for a sound they can just listen to which is best. I still dont know what i want for a muffler.

I'm doing my dual Magnaflow exhaust tonight, and I have already made a sound clip of my 89 SE, Magnaflow with high flow cat, no resonator.

It would be sweet to get a database going

well, here we go, magnaflow and dynomax are the same as far as design, the only difference is the magnaflow has a flap of metal inside the f-body muffler inlet to split the flow in two and equalize the amount of exhaust coming out of each tailpipe; whereas the dynomax doesnt have the flap, and exhaust gas coming out of the tailpipe opposite the muffler inlet is much more prevalent. i havent heard the difference between the two, but they should sound relativley the same since the same design is used. and, in my opinion, and others in the exhaust business, dynomax is a better quality, less expensive, and generally better sounding muffler... (obviously not in my car though :( ). well, like i said, i have a 2.5" dynomax bullet i can hopefully stick up there, only problem is i dont know if i have enough room in the exhaust tunnel to install it. anyways, thanks for all the info, and yes, a database of sounds would be great...

I've heard that a cherry bomb will help a lot with somethig like that. Keep it in mind, a good 20 bux you can spend, otherwise the closer your muffler is to the end of the line, the ricier it will sound cause it can't reverb as well, but you also need a nice revurb coming in as well..
