You've had inaccurate IAT readings. Most likely hot, which will lean out your fuel mixture. Bad for acceleration. It can have a positive effect for highway cruising. Similar to when my fuel pump was losing power when it got warm. My highway MPG went down 2 or so when I put a new pump in and was actually meeting my fuel demand. Don't forget the half inch un-filtered hole in the air box.

Yep, there is a hole in the back side of your airbox.

Being lean during hard acceleration is bad. Causes knock.
