Then you have to deal with what to support the rear diffential with. Having had two different suspensions under mine several times, I can say it wont support such a project as this. A rear sub frame would have to be fabricated or put the car on rails.
We had a member who actually was about half done with adding a whole nother 3800 drivetrain into the rear of a Bonnie. Don't know what became of him. Lost touch when we were down off the net for 2 months in '08.

I think the best guess for that would be the aztek rear sub frame, my concern would be how wide the track is and how it would fit under the bonne.
time + force x beer / not having the right tools = anything fitting any where

lol sorry had to its something my step-dad all ways said to me when i was under my now dead parted out rover ( may she rest in pieces)

Wow... what a response. Guess it wasn't as wild a thought as I, uh, thought.
I've considered AWD versions of several cars ever since the Pontiac 6000 STE AWD came out...
Thinking about the exhaust issue, I was thinking that the exhaust could be pulled out of the driveshaft tunnel and that oval exhaust pipe could be used to maintain clearance. I imagine a few supports would need some customizing, and some custom heat shielding.
I was thinking the same thing, as a worst case scenario... When I considered using the F-body rear end setup, I figured I'd need a totalled car to get some spare subframe stuff...
I'm curious about how the transaxle gets set up with a 3 way split? If there an different tailshaft with a little transfer case? Is it set up to put the driveshaft down the middle of the car? Also, how did GM decide where to put the power? Is it a rear bias? I imagine its not.
