auto-manual?
just a short question........i have a 90 sse and i was wondering.... to get quicker acceleration, is it possible to shift manually through each gear (1,2, d, Od) without breaking anything? i figured its better to ask than to blow a tranny. lol im new to driving so please dont tease me too badly !

Agreed, esp on an older tranny. Your 90 SSE needs to be kept up with a lot of TLC, so let the tranny gearing determine is own shifting, you'll be better off and it will maintain the transmission so you can keep enjoying the car.

the only reason for shifting an auto trans man. is if you want it to shift at a higher RPM thhen it already shifts at.in performance mode , mine shifts at 5500 RPM when i floor it. next time at the track, im going to shift it man. because i want to raise my shift points to 5700-5800 RPM. " if anyone tries this with a series 1 motor, please make sure you upgrade your valve springs first. " the valve springs is the big limiter to our redline.
our stock springs are only 74# @ 1.750". i replaced mine with small block chevy springs that are 110# @ 1.750". a tech at lunati said that with that upgrade, i should have no problem going to 6000 RPM'*
