Any scan results for ported TBs with MAF post removed?

I have been looking around locally and it seems that most people are between like 70-90ish. I dont know if it is because i live in a small area or because just the lack of people having tb'* done but prices are pretty high. I am going to continue to look around because i know there has to be a ma and pa'* place that would do it cheap or something.

I have one at a machinist that we use all the time at work. He'* a friend too and will not charge me more than $20, if anything (I throw quite a bit of work his way). Basically printed out your instructions and pics. That'* all he needed...like you say...

Of course he'* 45 minutes away and keeps forgetting to put it in his truck when he comes here, lol. But that'* another story.

Overall width should be about half what it was OEM after machining the flats.

PLEASE use red loctite on your new flathead screws. You'll be taking away a good amount of threads. Imagine a screw working loose and trying to go through a supercharger, or getting stuck in a valve.

Ahh haa...!!! I found your thread Ben.. :P

Doug, I agree, that'* why we need to install a bung in Ben'* down pipe and wideband tune it across the board.
Personally, I don't think his TB is all that much of a set back but I think porting a TB might be cheaper hen getting one of those intake manifold incerts from ZZP because those buggers are spendy but they work on the high rpm range.

Wren, I have seem someone suck an alky spray nozzle down the supercharger, it got chomped by the blower impellers and ground to shreds then the largest chunk got stuck in a valve and the valve was stuck open.
It was a 2005 Comp G Grand Prix with 14k miles on it. Needless to say, we rebuilt the top end of that motor in two days, then he went out and got a new blower because his impellers got mega gouged up and they were scraping each other and that whole thing was getting worse. We got the job done in two days flat... it sure felt strange doing head work on a brand new GP.

Yup. One of those little screws would wreak all sorts of havoc in an engine, not just supercharged. That'* why I'm so adamant about those screws.

jr's3800 said he was willing to test the ported TB I sent him with a scantool. Seat of the pants is noticable already. I'm going to send him a data sheet to fill in on that and the ported LIM. We've discussed it at length on the phone already.

He'll have the LIM Thursday or Friday.

The HVII is not really a component that has been planned around. Rather a different setup, which I feel is much more suited for Ben'* setup is on the chopping block currently. It was looking like it was going to be a completely modified LIM, but with some recent developments in the parts I've come up with, a two piece setup seems much more realistic. All we need are the pieces to bring it all to fruition, then the whole thing should work together and produce a nice powerband from mid to high.... We hope.

We have been brainstorming more parts to modify and better ways to do them over the phone. It'* only a matter of time before they become reality.

Aw crap.... it all goes downhill from here

But seriously... while the TB may not be a primary restriction at this point, I still think it might be worth my time to install a ported TB and observe the results. Ultimately a tuned intake manifold is going to be the best answer, but I keep wondering if that TB has anything to do with the car'* seemingly sluggish performance.

You're sure the sluggish performance has nothing to do with the lack of a twin screw on top of the engine?
