Adding a DIC to an 02?

Adding a DIC to an 02?
I've heard different things about adding a DIC...but most have been from older model years. Is an 02 any easier? It looks like the DIC is a different section of the cluster that plugs in. I know I'd need a new bezel and mask, and different button cluster, but can a DIC jut be plugged into the gauge cluster of an 02?
