97 Park Avenue to gut or not gut airbox?
I've searched the forum and found good and bad. Is it something that will gain anything besides sound or not. I'm at 5000ft elevation so anything to get more air into this vehicle is probably a good thing. I want your thoughts and opinions on this?

i don't think there is one thing wrong with gutting your airbox...do it,you'll notice quite a difference, especially if you put a k&n or other aftermarket filter in there

The gutted box clearly is capable of more flow than the unmodified stock box, so this indicates that any limiting restriction to air intake is elsewhere (MAF screen, TB bore, UIM runners, LIM ports, head ports, valves).

How is the noise when gutting one? Is it just louder when my foot is stuffed to the floor cause if that'* the way it is I'm gonna gut it real quick.

My car seems pretty loud now when I start it cold. When I do this i'm gonna get me a high flow cat and it should lay me back in my sofa of a seat in this tank.

Gutting my air box completely woke the sound up for me. Didn't do a whole lot of noticeable different for acceleration/power, but it did help throttle response.
