Default 94 supercharged no start

Hi.Im looking at a 94 ssei here for sale..The guy says it wont start and some shop told him its the supercharger. He had the shop look at it a few weeks ago because it wasnt running with much get up and go and would only start breifly..The shop told him the super charger was going bad.I ask the guy thats selling the car if the supercharger was making any weird noises and he said it was, at idle and during start up and shut down.Im thinking its the coupler thats making that noise..Anyway..Would a non functioning supercharger cause a no start situation?thanks

I wouldn't think that it would but my knowledge of car systems is very limited. The car should still fire because some air will still make its way into the engine.

The SC may be going bad, but it should still fire and run. If you blow a SC belt, whish powers the SC; you can still drive - just lacks power.
