94 ssei mods added!
I went home this weekend to work on my car. I brought it to my dad'* shop and put in the iridium plugs. Next, we put the supercharger in. I got the supercharger from canadiansupercharger.com. I got a real good deal there because I am a member here and on bonneville intensity. Anyway, as I was taking the whole thing apart, I noticed the TB looked terrible!!! It had carbon deposits all over it! So I got that all cleaned up with carb cleaner. I noticed the IAC valve also had been really gummed up. I am thinking of replacing that. As I was doing that, I removed the MAF screen, which helps in performance since I have an aftermarket intake. I got the new supercharger on there and, wow, it made a real difference!! The 140,000 miles on it killed the performance of the car. Now I have about 100 miles on it! This is great. Then, today, I got the superchip in and that helped out alot!! I don't know about adding 20 hp but it is noticeable. So before I added all of this I was running 0-60 in 7.16sec and now I am running 0-60 in an incredible 6.5 seconds! I think this is really good. Next, I am getting the taylor spark plug wires for my car cuz I have bosch on there and bosch sux. Hopefully that makes a real difference!!! I am psyched. Let me know what you guys think of this!!

They sent you the correct superchip, those backstabbing bastards! :P
This whole removal of the MAF screen is interesting, I may try it considering I have an aftermarket intake as well.

Imagine that!! I got the right part. It looked identical to the chip already in the car. It had the right code on it and everything. I am satisfied. I am just waiting on wilwren to let me know how his chip worked out.

Hector is going to contact Jet Monday and find out what happened. I'm betting it'll be here. If it is, it'* going in, and maybe I'll have time for a run before the kids get out of school. I wanna ask both of you guys where you got your intakes from, and how close to the back of the headlight they come. I know Hector at ADTR is trying to get us as close as possible for the colder air. Did you use an intake from another car? Both of you have Series 1 like me, and I'm going to build a heat shield. I'm offering it to Hector to do with as he pleases. He'* done so much work for us, I'd like to seem him get a little more out of the deal if possible. I'll keep you posted. Those are GREAT times. What tires are you running P? I'm shopping for tires right now. They're my biggest problem right now. Sounds like your experience with the MAF screen proves my theory, and that of a couple others. We've discussed this in detail. Both of you guys.....do us all a favor. Run with and without the MAF screen with the aftermarket Intakes and give me your impressions for the writeup in Techinfo? I'm going to do the same.

I got my intake from a guy in cali off of ebay. He sent a real short pipe and had him make me a new one. He did but it is still short. It could be bent a little more and lengthened a bit more to get as close the corner of the engine compartment as possible. I paid 100 for mine total. It is custom made and not out of another car. I will try to run the test again with and without the maf screen but don't hold me to it. I will be heading home next weekend and hopefully i have enough time. BTW those times are with brdgestone potenza re 730s. 225/60 16. They are z rated tires. I got em off tirerack for 101 a piece. Not bad considering they were about 120 a piece at a bridgestone dealer. I really like em alot.

Will, my Bonnie is at the shop getting the hood aligned, but I'll probably try removing the MAF screen and let you know.
Also, I think I have the same intake as 1983, its a Pro Zen Motorsports I got off ebay.

Allmachtige, how did our intake turn out? Mine was a little too short and could have been modified a little more to get further up toward the front of the engine compartment. Send me some pictures if you have any. Also, how did superchips screw up your order? What did they send you? Did it have the right computer code on the chip?
