Default 93 head port & polish progress pics (56k a little slow)

I've logged in about 6 total hours disassembling, cleaning, porting and polishing a set of heads planned for installation on my 93. Along with this, my exhaust manifolds are already welded on the outside of the inlets and mostly ported. They still require more clean up before it'* off for ceramic coating. Lastly, I made a deal with jgs11 for a lower intake manifold and it will receive some fine tuning too. I have some pics of the heads for comparison. One, I'm pretty satisfied with and the other is untouched. See if you can tell the difference.

The exhaust outlets are round now versus the flat oval shape. They look somewhat distorted due to angle and flash. I was able to remove quite of material and hope that there is a noticable power increase. After the P & P, they will be sent out for cleaning and machining. They will probably get a couple coats of silver paint too. New springs, valves and maybe even a set of DrJay'* rockers.

Looking GOOD! What'* the diameter of the port and the EM port? How much bigger is the Head port after porting? Before?

I'm going to have to borrow a better caliper rule cause both of mine suck. I'll try to get actuall dimensions soon. I matched the EM ports up with the gaskets then transfered the gasket holes on the head. The new ports are about 1/8" smaller diameter leaving about 1/16" of material before the gasket. I'm kinda scared to go all the way.

OK that definately just got added to the mod list! Amazing the amount of material that is available for removal. Those were worse than the EM'* I did. Gonna be a busy spring.

Very nice work!

Leave them where there at. A little lip will keep the exhuast pulses in one direction.
What'* goin on with the intake ports?

I'll know more when I receive the LIM but from my talk with Bill, it will be the LIM that gets ported rather than the heads. they are also much deeper than the exhaust which makes it difficult to polish. More than likely, they will just be smoothed as best as I can.
