There'* been alot of talk. The consensus is that it WILL fit. The new Bonneville GXP will have the shortstar (4.4L) with the 4T80E trans.

Nobody has done it yet. Talk to Speedguy.

Yes and no, no one is really willing to spend the money to make it happen. Domestic performance can make it happen but again to do it right it costs money. Easily $10.000.00. You will find the swap is a great option but the cost usually scares people away. I get e-mail at least once a month asking for free parts or all the info so they can do it. lol basically I would have to walk a person through the build over the phone while faxing schematics.

Now if you have the capability and at least 8-1000.00 you can do it yourself but at that cost why not have a pro do it and have a seamless unit.

If you have friends in the right places you could make it happen easier but 90% of our product was born from a search for solutions to make the swap happen. I have worked extensively with the companies who have swapped N* into other vehicles like the Gp and the PT cruiser to name a few. I have also talked at length with companies swapping the caddy (4.9) 5.0 into w bodies. Believe me it will work but there is an art to making these things work properly. I also have access to parts and options that no other company can offer for the N* due to the quest. If you go to the Gm forums under H body you can find my very first posts.

on a modified level how would you rate the diffucilty on doing this 1-10 (also put in mind the frame work if any ) does it drop in? if so is it like the 3.1 multi-port in old gp(space wise)

You want a 32v V8 NorthStar..buy an Aurora or Caddilac SLS, STS Seville or Deville.

V8'* are hot its cheaper to buy a new car then it is to redo the engine as such, its like tryin to SC an SE...not really smart to do when on a budget

I agree, cheapier to by a northstar powered car than it is for an engine swap. Last car was an Aurora w/ 4.0 v8 and now with the 3.8sc, there'* a lot more performace parts for 3.8 than northstar. Even on a caddy 4.6 w/ intake, thorttle body, and good exhaust you'll only get to 340HP, you can far exceed those numbers on a series II 3.8sc for a lot less money.
