Default 3" exhaust = POWER!!

Hey everyone!! Just got the car off the chasis dyno......
With 3.4 pulley, car made 221HP and 281ft/lbs

After installing 1.9 rockers and a custome 3" exhaust,

244HP and 327 ft/lbs torque!! Thats 23 WHP and an amazing 46 ft/ lbs at the wheels!! Great numbers!!

I was thinking about doing that also, how much did you have to pay to get that done?

Ahhhhh.....its all in who you know....Total exhaust cost, from the downpipe back, cost under $100.00.

you should have dyno'ed it with the 2.5" or 2.25" exahust on it, to see its numbers. Even highly tuned cars like Willwrens dont use 3".

There was a slight method to my madness......Before anything, when I first got the car dyno'd, just for *&G'*, we dropped the exhaust and ran it to see what would happen. With no exhaust on it at all, and before the rockers, it pulled 237 and like 297. This is without any restriction. Adding a restriction would decrease power. People say you hurt low end torque with big pipes, on N/A motors I agree, with any forced induction over 10 lbs of boost, I disagree.

A 3" isn't that bad. Sure you lose a little low end torque, but that'* better for the tranny. It'* great for killing KR, and top end power increases.

The 240 HP is not stock wheel power. Most are around the 190'* in stock form.
