Default 2004 GXP Octane preference

I read the manual and it said 87 is OK to use but for better performance to run higher octane.

Has anyone really noticed a difference between 87 and 93 octane?

yes there is a difference...i only use 93 but then again i have my timing bumped up a few degrees...regardless i have only used 93 from the beginning. and the cost at the pump is only like 3 bucks more total.

i found these helpful as well:
