Default 2000 SSEI Performance

On EBay they sell what they are calling Performance Resistor Modules. Are these modules a scam or are they actually worth purchasing and installing on my SSEI to boost performance and gas mileage?

If its the one I'm thinking of, its more than likely a scam. It replaces the IAT(Inlet Air Temp) sensor and fools the PCM into thinking that it is like -100F outside which makes the PCM dump more fuel, which actually hurts your mileage.

Thumbs up

Thanks Mike1995.

These things do not sound that bad in the descriptions on EBay. Thought I would ask here to see if they are actually legit or not. Anyway to save a little gas mileage and boost performance...I am always interested!!
