thank you for the information. I bought this car about 2 years ago for my 16th bday and the motor went so it took me a lonnggg time to get the money but now i have it all fixed up and i am so suprised on how fast it is stock. My gf has a 1997 cavalier and we have put some serious money in that (headers, cai, exhaust) and it is fast but no wheres close to my bonneville. I would like to probably get 15 flats if i can. What do you think that my car runs stock 16? just give me some ideas

what is a good first upgrade, i know on the cavalier we did the exhaust first but i havent seen to much in the way of exhaust for bonnevilles but i notics they have a good exhaust stock. maybe a new muffler magnaflow and turn it in to dual lol that would be pretty nice

Goot first mods are 180 thermostat, CAI(with good heat sheild), and an overall tune up.
Exhaust wise, the biggest restricion is probably the manifolds, especially since the fron is cast with errors. So ported exhaust mani'* would benifit you. Headers are overkill unless your on a mission to do low 14s or high 13s. A mandrel bend 2.5" down pipe would help out too but isn't really necassary. the rest of the exhaust is pretty high flow.
If your only trying to do 15 flat, then one of the easiest mods to help you get there are 1.9 rockers. Stock valve train should be fine up intill like 6000 rpms. (You should probably install corvette(LS6) vavle springs and Intense oil restriced pushrods while your in there so you can bunmp you shift points up)
A L67 throttle body will bolt up with minor modifications but your gonna have to do some air fuel tuning via a chip or afc.
If you install everything mentioned, get dynoed(should be less than 100), and have a custom chip (less than 50) done you should come pretty close.

Ohh i forgot to mention that your rear exhaust manifold probably has a diffrent size bolt pattern then grand prix'*/monte'*/regals so keep that in mind if you get ported manis.
I installed a ZZP rear mani only to find it didn't bolt up to my down pipe.

You can have your stock manifold downpipe flange weled on the ported w-body rear manifold since it'* steel. That'* probably the easies thing to do. OR if your getting a 2.5" mandrel DP made then have them weld on the correct flange.
Stock i think it shifts at 5900 or 5800 i forget. You need a chip to raise shift points. But you should only raise them if your doing mods to raise your powerband (rockers/exhaustor most importantly, cam)
Not sure where you speed limiter is 113mph? i dunno test it lol
The best page for engine parts?
intense, zzp, and where they sell I Win 1.9 rockers?
You can find out alot of info on there about the products and you can save money by getting used parts at www.clubgp.com in the classifieds.
What does my car run?
I dunno i'm workin out the bugs still before i go to the track.
I've got a se with the SLE package with black leather and less buttons than you :(
