1992 "No" EGR Question
I've read that "the 1992 3.8L (VIN L) engine does not use an EGR valve," yet my 1992 Bonneville certainly looks like it does have what I believe is a negative backpressure EGR valve. In fact, I recently ordered the small hose for the vacuum source from a Pontiac dealer for replacement. Could it actually be that some 1992 models did come out of the factory with this type of EGR valve on it seems that I DO have one of those models?

Are you sure you don't have the VIN 1 (supercharged) engine?
The EGR sits on the drivers side of the engine, right on the corner closest to the air filter. It looks like a plastic mushroom.

It depended on the what side of the Border your car was made for starters (Canada or USA). It also depended on what factory built your car when it rolled off the line, as some factories ran out of the Non-EGR engine & started using next year'* engine version instead to make production quotas.
